About Edison, NJ - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Middlesex County, New Jersey, Edison, formerly known as the Raritan Township, is a New Jersey township situated in the thriving New York City metropolitan area. Edison was first settled in the late 1600s. At that time it was part of both the Woodridge and Piscataway townships. On November 10th, 1954 the township was given the name Edison in honor of inventor Thomas Edison, whose main laboratory was located in the Menlo Park section of Edison. The Dunhams, Martins, Bonhams, Hulls, and FitzRandolphs were among the first families to settle in Edison and to whom land grants were given. Edison’s total population was 99,967 according to the 2010 United States Census.

Tourists who are interested in history will find Edison very attractive. Edison is home to New Jersey’s 2nd oldest Baptist Church, Stelton Baptist Church, as well as the 10th oldest Baptist Church in the nation. The Thomas Edison Center at Menlo Park features the Art Deco Edison Memorial Tower as well as a museum and education center dedicated to the inventor’s time of great creativity at Menlo Park. The Edison Farmers’ Market is a wonderful way to get to know the township on a different level, an opportunity that will be of interest to those looking to meet and greet with the locals while tasting some of the wonderful food that comes from the area.

Edison is located in the central climate zone of New Jersey which tends to see a fair amount of heat. However, individuals who are used to extreme heat will find Edison appealing. In the summer months, temperatures range from the low to mid-80s. Although Edison has very mild summertime temperatures in comparison to other parts of the country, it can still see temperatures rise neat into the 90s so individuals will want to use an energy efficient air conditioning unit.

Average highs of the winter months in Edison vary from the low to mid-40s and snow is very common. A heat pump or furnace will be essential during wintertime to keep residents safe and comfortable indoors.
